Reaching for Resolve is a specialized provider of conflict resolution support services and leadership development tailored to the needs and context of each client.
Prior to launching Reaching for Resolve, the company’s Founder, James Chicanot, was an original partner of one of Canada’s most experienced and reputable dispute resolution Firm’s (ADR Education). He spent approximately 20 years helping to build that Firm and further establish it as one of the country’s best.
James remains closely affiliated with ADR Education and continues to collaborate with the Firm on a regular and on-going basis. He is the co-author of two training manuals (The Practice of Mediation and The Practice of Negotiation) used extensively in learning environments throughout the Country. He is also one of the developers of a new and innovative conflict competency diagnostic tool called the ConflictAbility Assessment.

With Reaching for Resolve, James is excited to explore, develop and deliver new and powerful approaches to values-based practice. He has a Graduate Degree in Dispute Resolution and almost 25 years of direct experience providing a wide range of conflict resolution and leadership development services in myriad contexts across Canada including governmental, private-sector, administrative, community, environmental, commercial, First Nations, workplace, and family. Fortunately, given James’ long-standing reputation and experience in the conflict resolution field, he is well connected with other practitioners across the country and can engage them as Associates on a project-by-project basis to ensure adequate capacity is available to respond to larger, more complex projects of varying kinds and in both official languages.
